Services are streamed online for those who prefer to join in from home.  Congregation members will not appear on screen.

  • On Sunday 31 August, there will be no live morning worship at Grange.  Instead, a live stream of the inaugural Cumbria Circuit service from Penrith Methodist Church will be shown. Five newly-arrived ministers will be welcomed to the Circuit during this service.
Please note the service starts at 11:00am - if you arrive at the usual time, there will be refreshments available while you wait!  We don't know how long the service will last, so it's OK to leave before the end if you have commitments elsewhere.

If you are unable to get to the church, you can watch the stream online at home:

Sunday 31 August 11:00am - led by Rev David Newlove at Penrith

  • There will be a reflective evening service at 6:00pm, led by David and Hazel Edmondson

Toast Church meets on Sundays at 9:00am during termtime in the Grange Methodist Church hall. The next session will be on 7 September. Email for up-to-date information.
We are a friendly and relaxed group aimed at children of any age and their families. As the name suggests, we eat toast. We also sing, share stories, enjoy art, crafts and other fun activities and explore current issues in a family friendly way. All welcome, nothing to pay.

Grange Methodist Church

We welcome visitors and local people to our Weekly Community Coffee Morning on Wednesday 10:30 - 12 noon, where we serve Fairtrade tea and filter coffee; there is a books & cards stall, and usually a produce stall on the first Wednesday each month.

Our news

Cumbria Circuit Launch and Welcome Service

The new merged Circuit will be launched this Sunday, 31 August, in a special service at 11:00am at Penrith Methodist Church, Wordsworth St, Penrith Ca11 7QY. The five new ordained staff will be welcomed to the Cumbria Circuit during this service: Emma Holroyd is moving to Western Fells, Marie-Anne Kent to Kendal, Julia Reid to Penrith, Nigel Rodgers to Carlisle and Ros Watson to East Cumbria & KSAT.  Please do join with us.

For those not able to travel to Penrith, the service will be relayed live to Grange Methodist Church. We’ll meet at 10:30 as usual and have coffee/tea and fellowship first, while we wait for the start of the service. We don’t know how long the service will last; we will understand if anyone needs to leave before it has finished.  The stream will also be available to view at home, either live or afterwards, here.

Tapestries exhibition at Grange

In the Weardale Museum in County Durham is an amazing collection of tapestries.  They were designed and made in the last 20 years or so and depict scenes from the history of Methodism.  Some of them have been on tour in Cumbria since the middle of May and have so far stopped off at Coniston, Millom, Hawkshead and Ambleside.  In August they go to Keswick, Ulverston and Grange before heading off to Carlisle and Arnside in September.

Cross-Bay Walk in aid of redevelopment project

Walkers on the sandsThanks to all who helped make the day such a success - whether walking and raising sponsorship, organising or providing very welcome refreshments on the Prom afterwards, which were appreciated by our team of walkers and others! The amount we raised now stands at a fantastic £1,625.  This includes money from ticket sales, sponsorship and JustGiving donations.
