I hope you are all enjoying using your prayer journal for this time between Ascension and Pentecost. As you will know, it is part of the ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ prayer initiative.

Here in Cumbria, this has been added to by the ‘God for All’ team, who have set up a Pray24Cumbria day from 10am on Saturday 30th May to 10am Sunday 31st (Pentecost), and have asked people to sign up to pray for an hour in this time period.

The South Lakes Methodist Circuit (of which we are a part) have signed up as a whole for the hour from 4pm to 5pm on Saturday, and we are asking you all to join in prayer for Cumbria during this time. See here for more details, and for advice on what to pray for!

In Ambleside, we normally have united services with the Methodists, St Mary’s (Ambleside) and the Baptist church on 5th Sundays, and we have decided that May will be no different! So while I will still produce my printed service, we are also being invited to ‘zoom’ at 11am on 31st May. I will make sure those who are able and would like to, have the necessary instructions in time for Sunday 31st May.

As at least some of us are able to, we look forward to getting out and about a little more – although I know some of you need to still stay at home to stay safe – but it will be a while yet before we can meet together for worship. I will of course keep you all informed of changes as they come along!

Much love, in Christ,
