As you may know, following the latest government advice, the connexion has now advised that worship in Methodist Churches can restart subject to strict conditions. Each of our churches is making its own decision about how and when to return to our buildings. As the situation develops, we have found ways of sharing in worship by other methods. Many useful links can be found on the "Thoughts for Sunday" page, which is being updated frequently.

Rev'd Graham Ransom, Circuit Superintendent.
Flag Street, Hawkshead, LA22 0PE
Located in the centre of the village, Hawkshead Methodist Chapel is open to visitors every day.
Converted from a fifteenth-century cottage in 1862, a small group of local Christians worshipped at 'Union Chapel'. The benefactor was Mrs Satterthwaite. In 1926 the chapel was passed to the Wesleyan Methodist Conference. It still looks much as it did then and although the American harmonium, over 100 years old, is still playable and visitors are invited to play it, a modern electronic organ is used for services. Do come along and find out more.
Services at the Methodist chapel have not yet resumed after the pandemic.
